Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge is said to be “saddened” by the death of a young cancer patient she met on her recent tour of Malaysia.

Zakwan Anuar was excited by his royal visit.
Fifteen-year-old Zakwan Anuar, who suffered with acute leukaemia, was one of the many sick children who met Kate and Prince William in Kuala Lumpur during their jubilee tour, but the boy was so excited about her visit he postponed a blood transfusion for 24 hours and suffered through extra pain so he would not miss her during the visit.

Kate brought a smile to Zakwan’s face when she visited him and signed his card.
Kate brought a big smile to the little boy’s face when she signed his birthday card and told him he was very brave and very handsome.
Zakwan was expected to die within 48 hours after meeting Kate, but the boy endured through pain for two more weeks after the visit. A St James’s Palace spokesman said, “The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are saddened to hear of Zakwan’s death. Their thoughts are with his family at this time.”
