He may be just two years old, but it seems little Prince George has already made up his mind about his future occupation!

According to the Duchess of Cambridge, George wants nothing more than to become an air cadet – and luckily for him, his doting mum has just taken on the role of honorary commandant for the Royal Air Force Air Cadets.

At an event celebrating the 75th anniversary of the Cadets, Catherine told 19-year-old Lucinda Conder that George was “obsessed with the air cadets and wants to join”.

“We are going to have to push that one when to age 12,” she added, according to Ms Conder.

The event marked Catherine’s first solo appearance in her role as honorary commandant, and the stylish royal looked as chic as ever for the special occasion in a blue Alexander McQueen coat and complementary hat and heels.

Over the weekend, the busy mum-of-two also released a short video message for children’s charity Place2Be. The clip, which kicked off Children’s Mental Health Week in the UK, is the second the Duchess has appeared in during her time as Royal Patron of the organisation.

In the video, Catherine can be seen talking to four youngsters who have benefited from Place2Be’s work.

“Every child deserves to grow up knowing their potential and feeling confident that they won’t fall at the first hurdle – that they cope with life’s setbacks,” she says.

“William and I feel that every child deserves to be supported through difficult times in their lives.”
