Ed Sheeran accidentally killed off by newspaper

It's every publication's worst nightmare - running the wrong photo with a story about someone dying. But when it's one of the world's most recognisable singers, it begs the question - how on earth did it happen?!
Ed Sheeran reported dead by Icelandic newspaper

There will be some difficult conversations to be had at Morgunbladid newspaper in Iceland after they accidentally reported Ed Sheeran as dead.

The singer’s unmistakable face appeared alongside a death notice for 82-year-old mechanic Svavar Gunnar Sigurðsson. The blunder was picked up by one of Sheeran’s eagle eyed fans who then tweeted Sheeran about it.

“This obituary appeared in today’s @morgunbladid (Icelandic newspaper),” the fan wrote. “I think someone might be getting fired today. #rip @edsheeran.”

But fans can relax – the British singer is alive and well. He recently announced his engagement to girlfriend Cherry Seaborn, and is getting ready for his upcoming tour which will include concerts in Auckland and Dunedin in March.

Sheeran hasn’t yet responded to fans concerned for his wellbeing, nor has there been any word from the newspaper on how the gaffe happened.
