The rest of the band will continue on with their world tour, but a rep for Zayn has confirmed the singer “has been signed off with stress”.
He will be returning home to the UK and as yet, there has been no official word on when he will reunite with the rest of the band.
The news comes shortly after Zayn was hit by cheating allegations, after a photo surfaced online showing him getting close with a girl in Phuket, Thailand.
The girl in the photo, Lauren, shared the photo on her Instagram page, before making her account private.
Zayn, who is engaged to singer Perrie Edwards of girl band Little Mix, went onto Twitter to post his response to the rumours.
“I’m 22 years old … I love a girl named Perrie Edwards,” Zayn wrote.
“And there’s a lot of jealous f***s in this world I’m sorry for what it looks like x”.
This isn’t the first time Zayn’s seemingly been caught out – in February 2013, a woman named Courtney Webb claimed to have spent the night with Zayn after a party and shared pictures that seemed to show him in bed sleeping.
However, Zayn proposed to Perrie in August that same year and the two have remained engaged ever since.
