The mega-famous couple have been dating for less than a year but that hasn’t stopped Zayn Malik, 23, from bending his knee for Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star and model girlfriend, Gigi Hadid, 21.

In surprising news, Gigi, perhaps weary of the speedy-decision, turned Zayn down.

A source close to the genetically-blessed duo recently spoke with American magazine Life & Style, confessing that Gigi simply wasn’t ready for marriage.

“She’s only 21 and doesn’t feel ready to tie the knot, so she turned him down.”

Loved-up: In January, the stunning blonde starred in the steamy video clip for Zayn’s single, Pillowtalk.

The source went on the explain that Gigi is cautious about entering into such a serious relationship after having witnessed her mother, Yolanda Hadid, tread her way through two devastating divorces.

“She’s seen her mom [sic] go through two messy divorces, so Gigi wants to make 100 per cent sure Zayn’s the one before she makes a lifetime commitment,” the source said.

Zayn and Gigi’s own relationship has not been without disruption.

After only seven months together, the pair split due to a suspected feud over Gigi’s 21st birthday celebrations.

Speaking with E! News at the time, a source close to the glamours duo said, “Zayn and Gigi did break up, but they can likely get back together tomorrow. It’s all very unclear what’s going on between them now. They been having some issues lately that involved communication and getting along.”

Despite reconciling months ago, Gigi still isn’t ready for marriage.

Speaking about their relationship, the Pillowtalk singer told Complex Magazine earlier this year that he tries to keep their bond out of the spotlight.

“I try to keep the two very separate. I try to, as much as I can. But there’s only so much you can do,” he said.

He added: “I’m learning to deal with it. It’s just one of those things now, in the background. I just leave it as a bit of a noise in the background.”

Meanwhile a smitten Gigi admitted she loved collaborating with her beau.

She said, “I wish I could be on set with him every day. It doesn’t feel like work when he’s there. It was really fun. We had the best time. It was an adventure to go where we shot it,” she told E! News of their previous Vogue editorial shoot.
