After the exciting news that British superstar Adele is heading to our shores, the Breakfast team have paid tribute to the songstress by performing her song ‘Send My Love (To Your New Lover)’.
“It was a good idea at the time,” Hilary Barry said.
Hilary took on the daunting task of lead vocals for the song, while Daniel Faitaua, Sam Wallace, Brodie Kane, Sarah Gandy and Melissa Stokes chimed in acapella style to create the music.
After the clip aired, Hilary and the team hung their heads in shame.
“Yeah, we know it’s embarrassing, we’re embarrassed,” said Hilary.
Adele – who is set to play a one-night-only show at Auckland’s Mt Smart Stadium on March 23rd – took to Instagram this morning to share a handwritten note for her Kiwi fans.
