Take two musically-minded Hollywood celebs, a classic 80s tune, and a glamourous French setting, and what do you get? Timberlake and Kendrick. Or, as Pitch Perfect star Anna introduced them to their inaugural audience: Anna and Garfunkel.
The unlikely duo melted hearts during a super-exclusive showcase for their upcoming animated film Trolls at Cannes Film Festival, with their performance of Cyndi Lauper’s heartfelt ballad ‘True Colours’.
The ever-chivalrous, guitar-wielding JT, who is the upcoming movie’s musical director and lead voice actor, tried to calm Anna’s nerves, urging the crowd: “We’re going to give this a go, but you guys have to be nice…”
But there was no need – the pair nailed the song, making it even more tender and sentimental than the original.
It’s clear that Justin and Anna make a good team, whether they’re performing on stage or walking the red carpet!
Last night, the co-stars turned on the glamour for the opening night gala of the Cannes Film Festival, with Anna looking stunning in a bright yellow gown teamed with an Old Hollywood-style ‘do. Justin, meanwhile, looked as dapper as ever in a classic black tux.
