With her years of experience in delivering the news, veteran anchor Hilary Barry has seen it all – but even she couldn’t help laughing at one story in particular this morning.
While recounting the tale of the former Malaysian envoy who confessed to defecating outside the house of a woman he had followed home, Hilary (and the rest of the team) broke down into uncontrollable fits of laughter.
The phrase that sparked it all off was “emergency defecation situation”.
Of course, this isn’t the first time Hilary has showed a bit of emotion behind the news desk, and her co-host Paul Henry is often laughing right alongside her.
The two got candid about their unique bond in an interview with Woman’s Day last year, with Paul revealing that sitting next to Hilary each morning was the “greatest joy of this show so far”.
Memorably, Hilary Barry also made headlines as she was overcome by tears after announcing the axing of John Campbell’s Campbell Live show last year.
