Vanessa Hudgens has taken to Instagram to share another tribute to her beloved father Greg, almost two weeks on from his death from stage four cancer.
Posting a throwback picture from her childhood, the star wrote: “My mom found this picture of my dad and I. He would have hated that I’m sharing this but I think it’s just too cute,” she wrote, adding a heart symbol.
Vanessa, 27, announced that her father had passed away after his battle with cancer just one day before she was due to perform as Betty Rizzo in the TV musical event Grease: Live.
“I am so sad to say that last night my daddy, Greg passed away from stage 4 cancer,” she said on Twitter.
“Thank you to everyone who kept him in your prayers. Tonight, I do the show in his honor.”
She would go on to earn rave reviews for turn as the iconic Pink Lady, particularly for her performance of the heartbreaking song ‘There Are Worse Things I Could Do.’
“Imagine you had Vanessa Hudgens’ day, and doing that. What a superhero. In total awe,” wrote Broadway star Lin-Manuel Miranda of Vanessa’s stunning performance.
Earlier this week, the 27-year-old actress posted another tribute to her father on Instagram, sharing a framed photo of her dad dressed up in his firefighter’s uniform.
“Rest in peace daddy,” she captioned the picture.
