Rock icon Tina Turner has sadly passed away aged 83, now tributes from across the globe are pouring to pay homage to the legendary singer.

Tina, who was often called the Queen of Rock and Roll, had suffered from ill health in the past few years after being diagnosed with intestinal cancer in 2016 and had a kidney transplant in 2017.

The Rolling Stones front man, Mick Jagger shared some inspiring words to Twitter featuring some special moments together.

“I’m so saddened by the passing of my wonderful friend Tina Turner,” he wrote.

“She was truly an enormously talented performer and singer. She was inspiring, warm, funny and generous. She helped me so much when I was young and I will never forget her.”

Entertainment reporter Richard Wilkins also spoke his praise: “When she walked on that stage, she absolutely owned it.”

Tina was an enormously talented performer.

“She just had that presence, she was just a force of nature and the amazing voice, the pitch, the phrasing, the pizazz… she just delivered in spades.”

Actress Angela Basset – who played Tina in the 1993 film What’s Love Got to Do with It – posed the question on Instagram: “How do we say farewell to a woman who owned her pain and trauma and used it as a means to help change the world?”

“Her final words to me — for me — were, ‘You never mimicked me. Instead, you reached deep into your soul, found your inner Tina, and showed her to the world.’ I shall hold these words close to my heart for the rest of my days. I am honored to have known Tina Turner.”
