Things might’ve been heating up in Hawaii, but the spark just didn’t ignite between Danielle and Jordan.
After a physical date at sea in last night’s episode of The Bachelor New Zealand, the high-energy fire officer was booted from the show – and off the picturesque island.
“I had to pack my bags and get on the next flight out,” quips Danielle, “but if you’re going to be dumped, it may aswell be in a tropical location, right?”
The New Zealand Fire Service’s “Miss February” says her elimination was completely unexpected. “I was so shocked. I was convinced that I was on the next single date because I was the only girl that hadn’t had one-on-one time with Jordan after a group date. I thought, ‘He wouldn’t bring me all this way to dump me – no way, I was convinced I had it in the bag.’
“Being in the bottom two is such a horrible feeling. It’s this overwhelming feeling of rejection on such a large scale, the embarrassment, and then those terrible thoughts of, ‘Am I not good enough?’ start creeping into your head.”
Indeed, says Danielle, it was a “heart-breaking” experience but not for the reasons you might think.
“I was crying, and then I was like, ‘Why am I crying? I haven’t even got the chance to really know Jordan.’ Then it dawned on me, it can’t be him, it must be the girls. It’s so true, I had to farewell an incredible bunch of girls.
“I know Jordan and I weren’t mean to be, but he’s just one guy. I believe everything happens for a reason, and I know there is an amazing guy out there waiting for me.”
