It may be cold and miserable outside, but inside, things are heating up, thanks to these Shortland Street heart-throbs!
From July 11, the TV2 soap kicked off its winter one-hour Mondays, meaning plenty more screen time for Tane Williams, Jayden Daniels, Lukas Whiting and Reuben Milner.
While the foursome gave Derek Zoolander a run for his money with their Blue Steel poses during our shoot, in between takes, they joked around, cracking each other up with impersonations of their favourite cartoon characters.
It’s clear these guys aren’t just colleagues, but good mates too. In fact, 22-year-olds Jayden and Tane – who play Curtis Hannah and Ali Karim on the long-running show – have been buddies for years and even flat together.
“We’ve been best friends since we were 11,” says Jayden. They also share a dressing room on the Shorty set, along with Reuben, 20, who stars as Jack Hannah, while Aussie-born Lukas, 23, aka Finn Connelly, is next door.
“We all have a close bond,” Reuben confirms. Between scenes, the lads play video games, watch TV and Snapchat each other – and they hang out outside of work too, hosting regular poker nights.
