Boy director Taika Waititi is reportedly in negotiations to helm the next instalment in the highly popular Thor film series, starring Chris Hemsworth as the brawny Avenger.
The film has the title Thor: Ragnarok and is due to start shooting next year for release in 2017. Chris will be joined on set by Tom Hiddleston (Loki) and Jaimie Alexander (Lady Sif) in the threequel, which follows 2013’s Thor: The Dark World directed by Alan Taylor.
Viewers were first introduced to the Asgardian superhero in the original Thor film, which was released in 2011 and directed by Kenneth Branagh.
Taika is best known for his work on the quirky comedy Eagle vs Shark, the vampire mockumentary What We Do In The Shadowsand Kiwi classic Boy, which he directed, wrote and starred in.
Last year, it was announced that the Kiwi director had also been working with Disney on the script for their upcoming animated adventure Moana.
