After the car crash that was 2016, there’s finally some good news on the horizon – as the Spice Girls reveal they’ve hit the studio to record new music.

Geri Horner and Emma Bunton have taken to Instagram to reveal they’re back to making music together, two decades after their debut single, Wannabe, hit shelves.

The photo, posted by Geri (otherwise known as Ginger Spice) bore the caption: “In the studio. Ooh.”

Emma, Geri and Mel B promised a while back that they would create new material and plan a concert, but due to the fact Mel C and Victoria Beckham are not on board, they will be unable to call themselves The Spice Girls.

The trio will instead be known as GEM (Geri, Emma, Mel) – thought the girls do plan on getting two extra members for their concert, which is planned for 2017.

According to Mel B, Posh and Sporty told the girls “’You three go ahead and do it.’ We are girl power and we support each other so us three went, ‘OK, well then let’s us three do it.’”

The three Spice Girls will also be teaming up with the BBC to create a new talent show – Wannabe – where they search for wannabe spice Girls.
