Barefoot on the golden sands of Lalomanu Beach, the rosy glow of the Samoan sunset their perfect backdrop, singer Ladi6 made her solemn vow – to love and honour her partner of 12 years, Brent Park, whatever the future may hold.
Son Philli (11) was their one and only VIP guest – and the wedding was shrouded in complete secrecy, because Ladi and music producer Parks (as he is commonly known) had decided to elope.
Ladi – wearing a stunning Tanya Carlson silk and lace Spanish-influenced gown – says making the decision to escape to Samoa with only their son in tow was a fraught one. Coming from a large family, she’d already booked a big celebration north of Auckland.
But, as she explains in this week’s New Zealand Woman’s Weekly, their plans simply had to change.
