‘Chandelier’ songstress Sia and her husband Erik Anders Lang are divorcing after two years of marriage.
The former couple released a joint statement detailing their decision to split, adding that they plan on maintaining a friendship.
“After much soul searching and consideration we have made the decision to separate as a couple,” they said in their statement.
“We are, however, dedicated to remaining friends. There will be no further comment.”
Sia and her film producer husband first revealed that they were engaged on Instagram in June 2014. The couple eventually tied the knot in a fairytale wedding at Sia’s California home.
Sia and Erik last stepped out in public together in February, at a pre-Grammy bash held by Spotify.
The intensely private singer – who is notorious for hiding her face using large wigs and hats while performing – hasn’t spoken out much about her relationship in the past, but in April last year, she revealed he got along famously with her mother.
“[My mom and Erik] actually fell in love with one another and that was awesome,” she said in an interview with Australia’s Nova 69.6 radio show.
“It’s pretty cute.”
