The Kiwis may have bombed out of the Rugby League World Cup, losing to Fiji in the quarter final, but star player Shaun Johnson is putting the heartbreak behind him.
He and girlfriend, Silver Ferns netballer Kayla Cullen, have jetted off to Hawaii for a romantic break. And have been Instagramming up a storm.
They’ve been sunning themselves on the beach, drinking cocktails and, as sporting couples are prone to do, going hiking.
It’s been a while since we’ve seen so many abs in a single photo!
The genetically blessed pair don’t take themselves too seriously though, even joking about engagement rings.
In one photo Shaun posed the question: ‘Asked baby gurl (sic) what she’d choose between a Wrangler and an engagement ring. Her response was “hmm to take home?” Smh. The love is real.’
Kayla jokingly asked back ‘What colour Wrangler? ‘
It’s not the first time Johnson has talked marriage. Back in November 2015 he posted a photo of the pair to Twitter with the caption ‘my future wife.’
They initially started out as friends and but went public with the relationship in February 2016.
More recently, they were spotted saying an emotional farewell at the airport as the league star recently jetted out of New Zealand to start his new gig with the Cronulla Sharks in Sydney.
