Kiwi legend Sam Neill has appeared on The Graham Norton Show this weekend, charming guests with his tales from his Central Otago farm.

The 69-year-old star, who is originally from Northern Ireland, was on the chat show to promote Kiwi film The Hunt for the Wilderpeople, but ended up getting roped into a jam session and re-enacting some famous movie scenes.

Along with fellow actor Ewan McGregor, Sam played the ukulele to the audience, before recruiting English comedian Miranda Hart to re-enact a scene from Jurassic Park.

Directed by Ewan McGregor and helped by ‘dinosaur’ (comedian John Bishop), Miranda and Sam recreate a shocked scene from the Jurassic Park series, to the audience’s applause.

Sam also told host Graham that he has named all of his Otago farm animals after celebrities – including a calf after Norton himself.

One of his sheep is named after iconic actress Susan Sarandon, while Lord of the Rings star Cate Blanchett also gets the honour.

The Hunt for the Wilderpeople has been a success across the globe, after being created by Boy director Taika Waititi.

Starring Sam Neill and Julian Dennison, the pair become the subject of a manhunt after getting stranded in the New Zealand wilderness.
