Singer Robin Thicke is under investigation over claims he allegedly hit his son while the young boy had been in his care.
An already tense situation between Thicke and his ex-wife Paula Patton has now escalated with Patton taking legal action in an attempt to further restrict Thicke’s access.
The Mission Impossible actress sought an emergency order to only allow Thicke to have monitored day time visits with his six-year-old son and have him submit to drug testing. Reports claim a judge has denied her requests.
TMZ report allegations of the abuse surfaced after Julian told school officials at the beginning of the year his father had spanked him more than once.
The staff then reported the incident to the Los Angeles County Department of Children and Family Services (DCFS) who have begun an investigation.
Paula denied Robin access before the emergency order was filed.
According to legal documents Patton had said to her former 39-year-old spouse: “Julian is scared of you.”
Her declaration also revealed Julian had told his mother the day before he’d confided in school staff that Robin had hit him “really hard”. He demonstrated how hard he had been hit by hitting Patton on the back. While the slap was painful, the boy said he’d been hit even harder.
A school official also submitted a declaration which stated Julian had told her he’d been frequently “punched” by the star. A nanny has said there had been occasions where Thicke had smoked marijuana in front of the boy.
There were other accusations by Patton against her ex which included him turning up drunk to a kindergarten graduation last June at 8.30am and “hooting and hollering and making inappropriate jokes” in the Catholic church.
In his defence, Thicke has stated he only ever spanked his son with an open hand on his behind, as had been agreed on by the pair during their marriage.
He also claimed the dispute arose because he wouldn’t allow Patton to attend his father’s funeral last month.
Investigations into the allegations continue.
