Explosive new reports have hinted at a darker reason behind star couple Gwen Stefani and Gavin Rossdale’s divorce, which the pair first announced in a joint statement back in August.
At the time, they said the split was a “mutual decision” – but now, sources claim the stars ended it after Gavin’s three-year relationship with the family’s nanny Mindy Mann was discovered.
According to Us Weekly, Gwen first found out about the adultery in February, when she found explicit texts sent from Gavin and Mindy on the family iPad. The racy communication between the pair included nude photos of Mindy, and the duo’s plans to hook up.
“The iPad was linked to Gavin’s phone,” a source told the publication.
“One of the other nannies discovered the exchange and told Gwen.”
Mindy was promptly fired, and at first, Gavin tried to deny the affair by putting it down to simple flirtation. When the Bush rocker reportedly confessed to the affair several months later, Gwen made the painful decision to call it quits.
Us Weekly reports that Gavin and Mindy’s affair lasted for more than three years, overlapping with the period Gwen was pregnant with the couple’s third son Apollo.
“This was done right under Gwen’s nose,” Us Weekly’s source says.
“She was mortified, livid, and embarrassed.”
