Patrick and Jillian got married in 1999 and have three children together, 14-year-old Talula Fyfe and 7-year-old twins Sullivan Patrick and Darby Galen.
In a statement released to People late last week, they confirmed they were splitting up after 15 years of marriage.
“It is with careful consideration and mutual respect that we have decided to end our marriage,” the couple said.
“Our primary concern remains the wellbeing of our children, and we ask with profound gratitude that you respect our family’s privacy at this very sensitive time.”
Us Weekly reports that Jillian filed for divorce first on January 21, citing “irreconcilable differences”. She is also seeking spousal support and joint custody of the couple’s children.
Patrick, a keen race car driver as well as actor, was recently spotted still sporting his wedding ring at a racing event in Daytona Beach, Florida – four days after Jillian filed for divorce.
This is Patrick’s second marriage, after his first, to agent Rocky Parker, ended in 1994.
