Nun involved in a lawsuit with Katy Perry dies in court

Sister Catherine and Perry were in a legal battle over a property in L.A.

A nun involved in a legal battle over property with Katy Perry and the Los Angeles Archdiocese has collapsed and died in court.

Sister Catherine Rose Holzman, 89, and Perry were in a property dispute over a former convent in Los Angeles.

Perry, who agreed to buy the property for $14.5m, was turned down by the former residents.

Sister Catherine Rose and Sister Rita Callanan, who was also involved, felt uncomfortable selling the former convent to the star.

“I found her videos,” Sister Rita Callanan told the Los Angeles Times.

“I wasn’t happy with any of it.”

According to BBC News, Perry tried her best to win over the nuns by singing them hymns and showing them her Jesus tattoo, however they were not swayed.

Without consent from the Los Angeles Archdiocese, the nuns sold the property to a local restaurant owner instead.

Because no permission was granted to the sisters, Perry and the Catholic Church were awarded nearly $10m in damages.

It was then concluded that the restaurant owner had deliberately interfered with Perry’s plan to purchase the former convent.

Just hours before her death, Sister Catherine Rose was interviewed by Fox11.

“To Katy Perry, please stop,” she said.

“It’s not doing anyone any good except hurting a lot of people.”
