The star looked downcast as he was pictured filming scenes for the movie, which also stars Michael Caine and Alan Arkin.

On Sunday night, the 78-year-old released a heartfelt statement about E’Dena, who was the granddaughter of his first wife Jeanette Adair Bradshaw.

“The world will never know her artistry in talent. Her star will continue to shine bright in our hearts, thoughts and prayers. May she rest in peace,” he said.

The NYPD has charged E’Dena’s rapper boyfriend Lamar Davenport with her murder, after witness statements described him as performing an ‘exorcism’ on the aspiring actress. He allegedly stabbed her 15 times, with one witness saying he heard Lamar screaming, “get out, devils” during the attack.

According to People, this isn’t the first time Lamar has tangled with the law. The magazine reports that Lamar has had six arrests in two different US states, with charges ranging from petit larceny to marijuana and cocaine possession.

Lamar remains in police custody and under psychiatric hold at Columbia Presbyterian Medical Center, and has been arraigned from his hospital bed.
