He’s previously lamented the fact that he’s “too busy” to organise a wedding but My Kitchen Rules star Manu Feildel has finally tied the knot to the love of his life, Clarissa Weerasena, in an intimate ceremony.

The couple said “I do” in front of a handful of close family and friends in Adelaide earlier this week.

“Only immediate family and a few key friends were invited to the low-key nuptials,” our source says.

“Adelaide was chosen because it was the half-way point between east and west coast guests, and no one would guess they would choose it seeing as though they’d floated plans for a tropical island ceremony previously.”

“The bride looked absolutely radiant and obviously overjoyed at finally hooking her man, while Manu looked like the cat that got the cream,” they add of the elated husband and wife,” the insider adds.

The recipe to love! MKR’s Manu Feildel has married long-term love Clarissa Weerasena in an intimate ceremony in Adelaide.

The popular French chef, 43, first met jewellery store manager Clarissa in 2011 and was instantly smitten.

“We met in a lift going to a nightclub in Sydney. She didn’t know who I was. We didn’t see each other for three months after that, then we caught up for a drink,” he revealed to TV WEEK of their fateful first meeting.

“I was nervous, because three months had passed. We didn’t see each other for another three months, then had some lunch. The rest is history.”

He proposed in 2013 and they welcomed daughter Charlee in 2015.

Manu was previously in a 12-year relationship with Ronnie Morshead and they share son Jonti together.

As his TV career and restaurant ventures took off, the chef admitted he was in no rush to wed.

After meeting in 2011, Manu popped the question two years later.

“The marriage is not happening because our lives are just too busy – I’ve got too much bloody work and I need to take the work. Marriage would be nice for Mum and Dad – For me? I love her, she loves me and that’s where it stops,” he explained.

But the couple have finally found the time and kicked off the New Year by making a life-long commitment to one another.

When it comes to cooking with his wife at home, Manu says it’s a “50/50 venture.”

“We like to cook at the same time and spend a lot of time in the kitchen together. And we never fight.”

Congrats again to Manu and Clarissa. Here’s to many happy years – and meals!
