Sir Mick Jagger has welcomed his eight child – a son.

The Rolling Stones’ front man and Melanie Hamrick, a 29-year-old ballerina confirmed the news in a statement.

“Melanie Hamrick and Mick Jagger’s son was born today in New York and they are both delighted,” the pair said.

“Mick was at the hospital for the arrival. Mother and baby are doing well and we request that the media respect their privacy at this time.”

Jagger, 73, and Hamrick, who is a ballerina with the prestigious American Ballet Theatre, have been dating since 2014, following the death of his former partner L’Wren Scott.

The baby boy is the first child for the Rolling Stones front man in 17 years – and comes just two years after the birth of his great-granddaughter.

It was previously reported that the rock star had promised to pay a $4.5 million dollars to Hamrick. London’s Daily Mirror reported that while the singer is excited about the baby, he and Hamrick do not plan to wed or move in together. Instead the Post reported that the notorious ladies’ man has agreed to pay for a home for his baby-mama-to-be and pay her 15,000 a month until the child is grown.

Page Six also reported that a source close to Hamrick claims the world class dancer “wants to move to either Connecticut, where she has family, or Los Angeles, where Jagger spends a lot of time.”

On her Instagram Hamrick hinted at going back to dancing after she gives birth.

Mick Jagger has already fathered seven children to four different women (not including his latest baby news) and has remained close to all of them – they were by his side at his ex-girlfriend, designer L’Wren Scott’s funeral in 2014.

If these reports are anything to go by it seems the British legend is keen to live up to his parental obligations once again and he won’t be alone on daddy duty. Fellow Rolling Stone bandmate Ronnie Wood welcomed twins at age 68.

The Jagger Women…

One glance at Mick Jagger’s biography and the rock star’s family tree seems more twisted than most – and it’s because its seeds have been flung far and wide by an unconventional rock star patriarch who is rumoured to have slept with over 4000 women, fathered seven children to four women and most recently become a great-grandfather.

From his failed St Tropez wedding to Bianca Jagger, his Hindu beach ceremony to Texan model Jerry Hall and his tragic love affair with fashion designer L’Wren Scott, Mick’s life has been filled with beautiful and captivating women who have held on to a grand tradition of mesmerizing and inspiring the realms of art, fashion, culture and of course, rock ‘n’ roll.

These are the Jagger women.

Sir Mick Jagger has reportedly promised to pay a $4.5 million dollars to his girlfriend Melanie Hamrick following the birth of his eighth child, a boy.

Mick has had many high profile relationships with women throughout his career but the first woman to bare him a child was American singer, Marsha Hunt.

Hunt gave birth to Jagger’s eldest daughter, Karis Hunt Jagger on November 4, 1970.

The first woman to make an honest man out of the rock star was his Nicaraguan-born first wife, Bianca De Macias who married the singer in 1971.

Mick and Bianca married in a Catholic ceremony in Saint-Tropez, France.

Bianca and Mick had one child together, a daughter, Jade Sheena Jezebel Jagger born 21 October 1971.

Sadly the marriage was not destined to last. “My marriage ended on my wedding day,” Bianca famously said. The couple separated in 1977, and in May 1978 she filed for divorce on the grounds of his adultery.

Jade grew up to become a fixture on the London social scene and was seen by many as a wild child.

Jade insists that she loves the “big, extended” Jagger family and has two daughters of her own- Assisi was born when she was 20 and Amba followed three years later.

The next woman in Mick’s life after his marriage to Bianca was Texan model, Jerry Hall.

Jagger began seeing the blonde beauty in late 1977 and having children and living together for several years the pair married on 21 November 1990 at a beach wedding in Indonesia.

Mick and Jerry had four children together including two girls – Elizabeth ‘Lizzie’ Scarlett Jagger (born 2 March 1984) and Georgia May Ayeesha Jagger (born 12 January 1992).

Though both girls pursued modelling like their mother, Georgia’s career has taken off and she is now one of the world’s most sought after models.

Brazilian fashion model and TV show host, Luciana Gimenez Morad Fragali is the most recent woman to have a child with the rock ‘n’ roller. DNA tests confirmed Lucas Maurice Morad-Jagger, born 18 May 1999, was Jagger’s son.

Jagger’s most recent relationship ended in tragedy in 2014 after the singer’s longtime girlfriend, L’Wren Scott (R), took her own life after a long struggle with depression. Here the pair were in happier times as they attended a party in London with Bianca Jagger.

Scott – a famed fashion designer – had many celebrity freinds and fans including actress Sarah Jessica Parker (pictured), Nicole Kidman and Penelope Cruz. After her death a letter written on Jagger’s website expressed the singer’s grief: “I am still struggling to understand how my lover and best friend could end her life in this tragic way. We spent many wonderful years together and had made a great life for ourselves. She had great presence and her talent was much admired, not least by me.”
