Fans of Downton Abbey may be surprised to hear that the elegant Lady Mary Crawley could be launching a music career next!
Michelle Dockery, the 33-year-old actress behind the fan favourite character, has opened up about her background as a singer and revealed she would like to pursue her passion for music in the future.
“People are saying I’m a jazz singer but I’m not really, I just sing,” she told The Sun.
“It’s something I haven’t really had the time to explore yet but I would love to. I love singing. I love music. At some point I will do more,” she said.
Michelle is no stranger to the stage and has previously performed with her Downton co-star Elizabeth McGovern’s band Sadie and the Hotheads. Michelle also performed at the 50th anniversary of iconic venue Ronnie Scott’s Jazz Club in London.
With her own musical influences ranging from Joni Mitchell to classic crooner Frank Sinatra, we can’t wait to hear what Michelle’s own music would sound like!
