Melissa McCarthy was honoured with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame yesterday, supported by husband Ben Falcone, Ellen DeGeneres and Paul Feig, the man who directed her in the breakout hit Bridesmaids.

Wearing a flowing wrap-style dress and nude heels, the actress was overjoyed to be accepting the honour, which comes after a string of hit movies including The Heat, Identity Thief and Tammy.

“It just seems really nuts,” Melissa told E!.

“It really seems like there’s 50 cherries on top of the sundae”.

Melissa’s star is the 2,552nd to be awarded in the ‘Motion Pictures’ category on the Walk Of Fame. She joins a host of other A-listers awarded stars this year, including Sofia Vergara, The Good Wife‘s Julianna Margulies and Will Ferrell.

L-R: Ben Falcone, Melissa McCarthy, Ellen DeGeneres and Paul Feig.
