Forget raindrops on roses and whiskers on kittens – for these three gorgeous girls, their favourite things are garlic, Champagne, a good push-up bra and the occasional bite of cheddar.
New Zealand Woman’s Weekly caught up with three of our favourite MasterChef ladies, Chelsea Winter, Andrea Bathgate and Ana Schwartz, to find out exactly what gets their culinary juices flowing.
**What are your favourite things in life, and were you able to take any of them into the MasterChef house?
**The obvious favourites – partners, kids and pets – had to stay at home, but the girls had some small luxuries in the house. “I had a photo of my kids with me,” smiles Ana. “I really missed my partner, Mike, and my labradoodle, Sprite,” says Chelsea, “but I did have my sheepskin slippers. I was always in them – and my pyjamas.”
**What can’t you live without?
**“A good push-up bra!” cackles Andrea, as the other girls roar with laughter. “What? It’s true!” she says with a grin. “Yup, and also good wine,” adds Ana. “For me, its dirty old cheddar cheese,” says Chelsea. “When no-one’s looking at home, I’ll just take bites out of the block.”
**What about guilty pleasures?
**“Chocolate,” says Ana. “And good Champagne!” Chelsea adds. “I love chocolate so much, I just want to pour it all over me,” Andrea laughs. “Geez, no wonder it was you that hooked up in the house!” says Chelsea of Andrea’s relationship with fellow contestant Matt Gilray.
