Marie Claire magazine defends Ariana Grande

The star has been stung by rumours of 'diva' behaviour behind the scenes

Pint-sized singer Ariana has had a meteoric rise to the top of the charts – but the nasty rumours haven’t been far behind for the former Nickelodeon star.

First, there was the damning blog post written by a disgruntled fan’s father, after a meet-and-greet with Ariana supposedly went wrong.

Next, there were allegations Ariana had ‘stormed off the set’ during a photo shoot in Australia, causing the photographer to pack his bags and leave.

Around the same time, even more rumours surfaced that during her performance at the Stand up to Cancer TV special, Ariana had been “a total nightmare” backstage.

Executive producer Joel Gallen immediately shot down the rumours back then, describing Ariana as a “consummate professional” and “very gracious” – but the backlash has continued to grow.

The latest rumour making the rounds claims the 21-year-old singer was a “monster” about her hair during her recent cover shoot for Marie Claire‘s October issue.

A source says Ariana was late to the shoot, didn’t treat the crew well and insisted on only being photographed on the left side of her face.

It definitely doesn’t paint the most flattering picture of the ‘Break Free’ singer, but a spokesperson for Marie Claire has been quick to jump to her defence.

“Ariana did not postpone the shoot and nothing about her arrival time was a surprise to us,” the statement revealed.

“On set, she was professional and accommodating. She posed for photos with Editor-in-Chief Anne Fulendwider’s kids and watched some of the World Cup with the crew.”

That settles that! As for Ariana herself, she’s been determined to take the high road, tweeting messages of love to her social media followers.
