On December 4th Mariah Carey released her eight part –docu-series chronicling her over-the-top, lavish lifestyle and upcoming wedding to James Packer, which has since been cancelled due to the couple’s shock split.
“Forget the image, forget the rumours. I owe this to the fans,” quipped Mariah in a teaser for the show.
“I’m not Cinderella; my life has not been a fairy tale.”
Whether she’s flaunting her bling-tastic jewels or donning shades to combat unflattering fluorescent lighting, the series promises to give fans an unprecedented inside look into the daily life of the iconic singer.

In the early 2000’s when asked about Jennifer Lopez, Mariah Carey simply smiled, shook her head and said “I don’t know her”. The shadey apparently comment sparked a 15 year long feud between the two singers
During a live recording of Good Morning America in 2008, Mariah performed an awkward performance of “Touch My Body,” during which one of Mariah’s backup vocalists was singing a bit too loud for her own good. Mid-performance Mariah took it upon herself to confront the singer: “Stop singing my part now, baby.”
According to the New York Post in 2009 Mariah stormed out of President Obama’s inauguration ceremony because she was “furious” she wasn’t seated at the same table as the First Couple.
In 2011 Mariah revealed to Barbara Walters that she welcomed her newborn twins to the world with a live version of her song “Fantasy” playing, “So they could hear the applause as they entered the world.”
During a live appearance on the Home Shopping Network in 2011 to promote her jewellery range, Mariah snapped at the crew and requested that they only film her best angles.
During her infamous feud with Nicki Minaj in 2013, Mariah claimed that the rap star threatened her with a gun. She went on to hire more security because she felt “unsafe” at work
In late 2013 Mariah was hospitalised with a dislocated shoulder, but made sure she had a camera crew rolling to capture her dramatic exit in a wheelchair.
In 2016 after agreeing to appear on the first ever episode of James Corden’s Carpool Karaoke where celebrities are required to sing along to their most famous tracks, Mariah refused to sing instead asking if they could ‘just drive around and have a chat’. After eventually being persuaded to get into the car she then declared, ‘I’m not singing today, I was up all night!’
