Kiwi actor Manu Bennett and partner, Karin Horen, frontwoman for cancer patient charity, have ended their 10 year relationship.

Spy reports the couple are now living separately, with Karin (43) at the family home in Greenhithe, and the Spartacus star living in Henderson.

The pair are understood to be sharing parenting duties for their three young girls, Huia, Mokoia and Pania.

The split has been confirmed by Manu and Karin to Spy, but at this stage no further details have been revealed.

News of the couple’s breakup comes as a surprise as the family were seen happily roaming the streets of Peru last year when they travelled to South America to visit Manu, who was on location filming Death Race 2050.

Karin’s much publicised battle with breast cancer has seen her open up about her struggles with the disease, as well as founding an annual event for the New Zealand Breast Cancer Foundation called Paddle for Hope.

The mother of three has fought two bouts of the disease with the last one just four years ago.

In an earlier interview with the Weekly on her struggles with the illness, Karin said she takes a positive stance on dealing with the disease

“I don’t have any negative thoughts about the situation. I don’t ask myself, ‘Why me? I only ask, ‘Why not? Because it’s always the wrong time.”

“When I was told the news, I looked at my girls and cried. Everything I do now is for my children and my loved ones.”
