An Auckland taxi driver has been charged with indecent assault after claims were made by The Edge host Jay-Jay Harvey about an ‘uncomfortable’ experience she had on a night out in October.

Jay-Jay took to her Facebook page in early October to discuss an “uncomfortable experience” she had with a taxi driver after a night out in Ponsonby.

Jay-Jay explained that her taxi driver had “fondled” her breasts and attempted to follow her inside her apartment.

Jay-Jay expressed in a further Facebook post her thanks to the police.

“An update on the taxi assault I endured on October 1st: the Police have been working really hard behind the scenes and last night made an arrest,” the post read.

“I feel relieved and I want to thank the Police for being so supportive and persistent. They have done a great job.”

“Police have arrested a 27-year-old Massey man following an investigation into an incident which occurred on October 1, 2017,” says police officer Phillip Cox, according to Newshub.

“He has been charged with indecent assault and will be appearing in the Auckland District Court on December 6. As this is now before the courts, we are unable to comment further on this matter.”

Meanwhile, Jay-Jay is set to leave The Edge just before christmas.
