High-end property agents have been caught up in a frantic search for the perfect place for superstar Justin Bieber and his crew ahead of his Auckland show.

The 23-year-old chart-topper is understood to have arrived in New Zealand late this week, and is set to perform a sold-out gig tonight for his Kiwi fans at Mt Smart Stadium as part of his Purpose World Tour.

The New Zealand Herald reports the singer – who is fiercely protective of his privacy – didn’t want to stay in any of Auckland’s five star hotels, instead preferring to spend his post-gig downtime at a private home.

According to a Herald source, finding a suitably luxurious resting place for the for the star proved harder than expected, with Justin’s management up against the clock to secure anything that met the singer’s standards.

Apparently one option that was considered was the five-bedroom $20 million harbourside mansion Jason Statham stayed at when he was here filming Meg in Auckland last year.

But, with that property unavailable the search continued.

Fortunately for the star, a flurry of last minute panicked calls turned up a multimillion dollar mansion in a swish inner city suburb.

It’s believed the rental rate for the prestigious property is $25,000 per night.

Living it up in the lap of luxury, celebrity style!
