Kiwi superstar Lorde has reached out to a very special fan – Elle Kronfeld-Tobin, the sole survivor of a tragic car accident that recently claimed the lives of her father and her one-year-old brother.

The multi-award winning songstress spent time with Elle at Auckland’s Starship Hospital on Wednesday where the two-year-old has been recovering from her injuries.

The visit by the singer came just a day after the heart-rending funeral for her father Chris Tobin, 51, and baby Jack who died following the tragic accident.

The fatal crash between Mr Tobin’s car and a bus claimed Mr Tobin’s life at the scene. His son and daughter were both rushed to Starship with critical injuries however, Jack died a few days later.

NZME reports Lorde took time out of her hectic schedule, promoting her new album Melodrama, especially to spend time with the young crash survivor.

It’s understood the pair sang songs together from Frozen; wee Elle’s favourite movie,

Lamour Duckett, Elle’s aunty said the family were incredibly touched by Lorde’s generosity.

“She popped in to see Elle and sang songs with her, which was really cool.”

The singer, who spent two and a half hours at the hospital, also made time to visit other patients to brighten their day.

The visit to Starship was Lorde’s first, said Sarah Morrison from entertainment charity Radio Lollipop.

“She spent lots of time with the kids and nurses, who thought she was fantastic. We didn’t expect someone like Lorde to visit but her manager said she was in town for two weeks, so we were very lucky,” she told The Weekend Herald.

A Givealittle page has been set up to help the family recover from their devastating loss.
