Lewis Hamilton spotted in Auckland

The Formula One racing star has been spotted on New Zealand shores

British racing star Lewis Hamilton has landed in Auckland, taking to Snapchat to share footage from his first visit to New Zealand.

The world champion, who is preparing to compete in the Formula One Australian Grand Prix in Melbourne in just a few days, was thrilled to be making his first trip to our shores and shared plenty of scenic aerial views of the lush landscape from the plane.

“First time ever to New Zealand, so I’m excited to see this beautiful place,” he said in a later clip.

Lewis shared these clips from his arrival into New Zealand on Snapchat.

In another part of his Snapchat story, the 31-year-old took in the view from what looked to be his hotel room, as an unidentified woman in the background asked whether or not he would be taking part in one of the more daring activities available at the Sky Tower.

While Lewis’ answer wasn’t audible in the clip, we’re betting the F1 star would feel more than at home in the adrenaline rush of bungy jumping from the tower!

And if his career in racing doesn’t work out, the multi-talented Brit always has his music to fall back on. Last year, he revealed a few snippets from songs he had been working hard on and confessed that music had always been one of his passions.

“In here, I can be me,” he said, referring to the studio where he worked on his album. “I can be vulnerable. I can show a side of me that people don’t get to see.”

“The plan was that it always started as a hobby but it’s got to a point now where it’s very serious, and we spend a lot of time in here,” he added.

“If I’m not training, getting ready for the race, I’m here.”
