The brunette beauty is said to be “surrounded by her friends, who have rallied around her and support her” as she deals with the aftermath of her breakup.
Lea, 29, met 30-year-old aspiring model Matthew on the set of her music video for single ‘On My Way’ in April 2014. The relationship was her first since the tragic death of her Glee co-star and boyfriend Cory Monteith in 2013.
While Lea seemed to have fallen head over heels for her hunky beau, E! reports it was Matthew who blindsided the actress by ending things “all of a sudden and without warning” earlier this month.
“She got no reason or explanation for the split,” a source tells E! News, while Us Weekly reports that Lea was “completely blindsided” by the breakup.
Just last month, Lea was gushing about her then-boyfriend during an interview with PodcastOne’s Fempire show, telling the hosts that Matthew had been “very respectful” of her previous relationship with Cory.

“We’ve stood by each other through anything that was thrown our way, and [Matt] is such a great man that he would never really let anything like that ever crack our lovely little core that we’ve created,” she revealed.
However, even then the bubbly star seemed to hint at underlying issues surrounding the relationship.
“Other people don’t know him and they don’t know my private life, so I understand that people are going to say whatever they are going to say,” she said.
“As long as he and I are good, my family’s good, my friends are good, that’s all that matters.”
