All Blacks captain Kieran Read is launching a new podcast to help get children to sleep.

He has partnered with vitamin company Swisse to launch Kieran Read’s Bedtime Stories.

“We all need a night off once in a while” he wrote on Instagram, “so tune in to my new @swissenz podcast: Kieran Reads Bedtime Stories (Get it? )….I’ll help you get the kids to sleep while you watch the game this weekend.”

The game he’s referring to is of course the first all-important Bledisloe Cup test match against the Wallabies in Sydney.

Kieran and his son Reuben at the end of last year’s 3rd test against the Lions.

“Relax as rugby legend Kieran Read shares bedtime stories that help you put your children to bed,” the marketing information reads, “so you can watch the rugby in peace. Or eat marshmallows in the bath if that’s more your thing.”

32-year-old Kieran knows a thing or two about getting children to sleep. He’s the father of three children – daughters Elle, six, and Eden, five, and one-year-old son Reuben.

Judging by the comments on Kieran’s Instagram posts, it’s going to be an instant hit.

“I’m getting my wife pregnant now just so we can utilize this piece of greatness!” one keen fan wrote.

“Subscribed! And I don’t even have kids,” wrote another.

The first three stories due to be launched this weekend are ‘Wee Kiwi’, ‘The Magic Cyclone’ and ‘The Snowman who went on a Tropical Holiday.’

If you’re keen to listen to Kieran’s dulcet tones, you can download the podcast here. Warning: it might just help adults get to sleep too.
