Us Weekly reports that Khloe and James have actually been over for weeks now, with the reality star ultimately making the decision to call time on their relationship.

The couple have weathered plenty of ups and downs since they first stepped out together in July last year. James has stayed by Khloe’s side throughout her estranged husband Lamar Odom’s health crisis, and less than a month ago, Khloe was still reassuring reporters that their relationship was still going strong.

In the end, it was the couple’s busy lifestyle that was rumoured to have contributed to the split.

“Nothing really [bad] happened,” a source told E! of the breakup.

“They just barely saw each other the past few months and it died out.”

Since calling it quits with James, Khloe has already been spotted partying with ex-boyfriend French Montana at a birthday bash for one of their mutual friends. On Monday (US time), the two were spotted dining out at popular West Hollywood spot BOA Steakhouse.

The outing immediately fuelled rumours of a rekindled romance, but sources say the duo are just friends for now – although French is reportedly still besotted with his former girlfriend.

“He still loves her so much and never stopped,” a source tells E!, adding that while Khloe knows this, “she just wants to remain friends for now.”
