Celebrity hairstylist Jen Atkin has made her name out of creating the perfect undone ‘do’.
Her extensive – and exclusive – client list naturally includes the famous with Kim and Khloé Kardashian among those the stylist works with on a regular basis.
According to the New York Times the stylist and the famous sisters met on the set of a Cosmopolitan shoot in Miami six years ago.
Since then Jen, 33, has been a part of the girls ‘glam squad’, has appeared on Keeping Up With The Kardashians and is a regular face on the family’s Instagram and Snapchat feeds.
It would seem the superstar stylist is clearly more than just Kim’s hairdresser with the reality star going as far to say she considers Jen a good friend, as well as someone she can trust.
“I genuinely love Jen’s personality,” Kim said. “She’s snarky and witty and has phenomenal one-lines. She’s become one of my best friends.
“It’s knowing that I could hang out and get drunk with [Atkin] and she’d never take advantage. Some people, you give them an inch and they take a mile. Jen is always on time in the morning.”
Jen’s build a global brand through a massive social media following – she’s got 1.8 million followers on Instagram – and said she now travels the world just cutting hair.
She told news.com.au her biggest market outside the United States is the Middle East and she travels to Dubai around four times a year. She’ll do up to 21 haircuts a day during her four-day trips, close to $1200 for a cut and blow dry.
“I have clients that travel from Bahrain and Kuwait and Qatar and Saudi Arabia,” she said.
“I still get goosebumps when I do a royal wedding. I can’t say [whose wedding] though. They’re amazing. And going to the Cannes Film Festival, I find myself on private planes doing haircuts and blowouts, it’s insane.”
