Kiwi sporting glamour girl Kayla Cullen stole the spotlight at last night’s New Zealand Netball Awards at the Auckland Museum.
In a frock inspired by ‘90s Galliano, the Silver Ferns and Northern Mystiks stunner took out the Woman’s Day People’s Choice Award for the second year running.
Only a handful of votes separated the top three finalists and Kayla, 24, couldn’t believe her luck, saying, “This doesn’t feel real to me. I’m just happy to receive an award.”
The Aucklander hobbled on and off stage just two weeks after having surgery to put pins in her foot, where she’d suffered a stress fracture. She’d only taken her “moon boot” off last week and told us, “I probably shouldn’t be in heels.”
