Katherine Heigl is now a proud mother of three!

The Doubt star and her musician hubby Josh Kelley welcomed their son, Joshua Bishop Kelley Jr on Tuesday. The newest addition to the family, baby Joshua joins big sisters Adalaide, 4, and Naleigh, 8.

Katherine – best known for her role on Grey’s Anatomy – previously confirmed she was expecting in June.

“The Kelley clan is thrilled to announce that we are expecting a third addition to our family,” the couple revealed in a statement.

“Naleigh and Adalaide could not be more excited to welcome their new sibling into the fold, and Josh and I are overflowing with joy and gratitude.”

“This is an incredibly exciting time for us filled with hope, anticipation and hormones. Well, only I’m filled with hormones, but everyone in the family gets to enjoy them,” Heigl joked in the statement.

“We couldn’t be more excited to be able to finally share this news with our fans, and are looking forward to continuing to share the journey with you all.”

Since falling pregnant with her third child, Katherine has been giving fans an inside look at her journey on her Instagram account and her blog Heavenly Days, where she covers everything from finding her workout motivation to her favourite recipes.

On Instagram, the star often shares sweet family photos with Josh and the girls at home. The couple adopted Naleigh in 2009 and Adalaide in 2012.

In an interview with Entertainment Tonight back in August, Katherine revealed the girls were “so excited” about the arrival of their new sibling.

“For them, it’s an ‘out of sight, out of mind’ thing. They’ll forget about it for a while, and then suddenly be like, ‘Hey, have you had that baby yet?'” she quipped.

After announcing her pregnancy, Katherine wrote about the experience of becoming a first-time biological mother in her blog, describing it as “totally unexpected but thrilling”.

“We were considering adoption again, fostering, or pregnancy if possible,” she explained. “Seeing as I have never been pregnant and as my OB/GYN reminded me last year, I’m of advanced maternal age, I wasn’t sure pregnancy was even in the cards for us. Turns out it was very much in the cards!”

Congratulations to Katherine and Josh!
