Justin Theroux may have landed himself in hot water after eagle-eyed Instagram users picked up on what appeared to be a dig at Brad Pitt – the ex-husband of his wife Jennifer Aniston – in a recent post.

The Girl On The Train actor shared an image of an expletive-laden graffiti design by street artist Nick Flatt to illustrate how he felt about the upcoming US presidential election.

“#Currentelectionmood,” he captioned the snapshot of the artwork, which features an image of a woman with her middle finger in her mouth set against a backdrop of slogans saying everything from “f—k imperialism” to “f—k war”.

However, fans quickly picked up that one of the phrases behind the woman in the artwork read “f—k Brad Pitt”.

According to E! News, the graffiti design in question was commissioned in 2015 – 10 years after Brad and Jennifer famously went their separate ways.

Not so fast! Justin has since edited his caption to make it clear he didn’t mean to throw any shade at anyone.

Some commenters praised the actor for what they saw as his “silent shade” against Brad, but Justin was quick to clarify what he really meant.

The actor edited his caption to state the following: “And NO this post is NOT ‘shading’ anyone because I’m not eleven years old.”

“I mean, serious. Ok, maybe pickles,” he quipped, placing everything in a long hashtag.

Justin’s Instagram post comes not long after Jennifer’s long-time BFF Chelsea Handler laughed off claims that the Friends star was in any way affected by the shocking news of the Brangelina split.

“It’s so stupid and pathetic. As if Jen cares – she doesn’t care. It’s ridiculous that people still drag her into this,” Chelsea scoffed in an interview with Grazia.

“Hello, as if she is sitting around even caring about this.”

“As if Jen cares – she doesn’t care,” Chelsea says of pal Jennifer Aniston’s reaction to the Brangelina split.
