A judge has issued an arrest warrant for rapper Tyga after he failed to appear in court on Tuesday, where he was due to face a former landlord over a rent dispute.

The landlord was previously granted a $480,000 default judgment against Tyga after the 26-year-old fell behind on rent payments for a former mansion in Malibu and reportedly inflicted serious damage to the property.

Tyga has yet to pay off his debt, but stories about his rumoured purchase of a $200,000 Mercedes-Maybach for girlfriend Kylie Jenner earlier this month reportedly upset the landlord, who claims the splurge is “a fraudulent transfer of assets that should go to satisfy the judgment”.

According to TMZ, the judge presiding over the case has now issued a bench warrant for the rapper, which means Tyga could go to jail.

This isn’t the first time Tyga – who shares three-year-old son King Cairo with ex Blac Chyna – has hit headlines for his money troubles.

He’s rumoured to have faced eviction and had a car repossessed – but in spite of everything, the ‘Rack City’ rapper hasn’t stopped splashing out on his luxurious lifestyle.

Back in July, Tyga reportedly signed on to rent a 12,800-square-foot property in Bel Air for $46,500 (US) a month, according to Entertainment Tonight.
