Amber Heard settles divorce case with Johnny Depp, receives $7 million

Amber has withdrawn her abuse allegations and reportedly received a settlement of $7 million.

The couple settled their divorce case last year.

Yesterday in court Johnny Depp and Amber Heard settled their divorce, and Amber withdrew her allegations that her husband had physically abused her.

While Amber is said to have wanted US $8 million, Johnny has reportedly agreed to pay Amber US $7 million, on the agreement that she will not be allowed to re-open the case again.

A joint public statement was released by the pair.

“Our relationship was intensely passionate and at times volatile, but always bound by love. Neither party has made false accusations for financial gain. There was never any intent of physical or emotional harm.”

After accusing her husband of domestic violence, Amber filed for divorce in May and was granted a temporary restraining order.

Johnny has consistently denied the abuse claims. His close friends have spoken out to defend him.

Amber later appeared in court with a bruised face, stating that it was a result of Johnny striking her with a cellphone.

“During the entirety of our relationship, Johnny has been verbally and physically abusive to me. I endured excessive emotional, verbal and physical abuse from Johnny, which has included angry, hostile, humiliating and threatening assaults to me whenever I questioned his authority or disagreed with him.” Amber said.

Last week Amber was spotted at LAX airport with bruises on her arm.

This settlement comes only a few days after court filings claimed Johnny cut off his own finger in a drunken rage over suspicions that Amber was cheating on him.

Amber will reportedly donate financial proceeds from the divorce to a charity.
