J.K. Rowling announces three more Harry Potter books

This story isn't over.

Shortly after releasing the latest addition to the Harry Potter franchise, a two-part play Harry Potter and the Cursed Child – JK Rowling has announced that three brand new stories will be launched next month.

The books will only be available in electronic form, and while they’re not based on the much-loved character Harry Potter, they will instead delve into the backstories of some familiar characters from the series including Professor Dolores Umbridge and Lord Voldemort.

Hogwarts: An Incomplete and Unreliable Guide dives into the nooks and crannies of the beloved wizarding school itself, unfurling everything from details about the Hogwarts ghosts, to what happens when the Sorting Hat can’t decide on a student’s house.

Short Stories from Hogwarts of Power, Political and Pesky Poltergeists explores the darker roots of the wizarding world. Readers will learn more about the troubles that faced the Ministry of Magic and the horrors of Azkaban prison.

Short Stories from Hogwarts of Heroism, Hardship and Dangerous Hobbies, celebrates the colourful staff of Hogwarts. There’s more to discover about Care of Magical Creatures teacher Silvanus Kettleburn, as well as another new piece of writing from J.K. Rowling on Minerva McGonagall, and her involvement in the second wizarding war.

The Pottermore Presents trilogy will be released on September 6th.

Potter fans can look out for “Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them” in NZ cinemas on November 17th.
