One News presenter Jenny-May, who is pregnant with twins, has been the subject of some harsh criticism of late – with one viewer writing an angry letter accusing the star of being an “eyesore” on TV.
Unperturbed, the presenter continued to appear on screen, but did promise herself that once she had to wear jandals to work – she’d admit defeat and go on maternity leave.
And Friday was that day, with Jenny presenting the sport segment on the 6PM One News, and then announcing she would stand down from that day.
“The day I had to wear jandals on air was the day I was going to stand down, so today’s that day,” said Jenny (41).
But the star was horrified when the cameraman panned down to show her footwear footwear, promptly telling them not to film her feet.
“I’m in shot with the jandals, you can’t show the jandals,” Jenny exclaimed, before walking off screen in embarrassment.
Jenny married husband Dean Clarkson in 2015, before announcing they were expecting twins later that year.
And with Jenny’s due date sure to be just days away, we’re glad the star is finally taking some well-earned rest.
