Popular One News presenter Jenny May Clarkson will be back on TV screens tonight, as she returns from a brief hiatus to have her twin boys.

The former Silver Fern netball player and husband Dean welcomed their first children together in March, just a few months after they walked down the aisle together.

Jenny-May was just shy of the 12-week mark when she walked down the aisle last September. While she wasn’t showing, she slowly became uncomfortably large with the twins.

Stepping down from her job presenting the sports segment on ONE just a month before her due date, Jenny May admitted defeat in February when she was forced to wear jandals for comfort.

“I made this call, that the day I had to wear jandals on air, was the day I was going to stand down,” she said.

“So today’s that day.”

When the Weekly caught up with Jenny and Dean earlier this year, Jenny said she was feeling “so blessed” after the birth of her babies, Atawhai and Te Manahau, adding “it’s just so awesome.”

And Dean was equally over the moon, saying: “They have an amazing mum. I wouldn’t want to do this with anyone else. I love watching her with them – I knew she’d be awesome at it.

She’s just a kind person and so nurturing of everyone. And now she has our boys. I’ve always known they’d be in good hands.”

Jenny May will be back on screens tonight to present the sport on ONE News at 6pm.
