Hollywood star Jason Statham has been spotted out and about in Auckland this week, bumping into presenter and model Anna Reeve and grabbing a quick selfie with café owners in Grey Lynn.

Anna, who is married to Hauraki radio host Jay Reeve, initially didn’t recognise the Transporter actor, who was dressed down in a black beanie, t-shirt and jacket for the casual outing.

“Paying for my parking and there is a big fuss from the girls behind the counter about the gentlemen[sic] in front of me in a beanie,” she wrote on Instagram.

“One word out of his mouth and I knew it was @jasonstatham. Jay has a pretty big man crush on the guy so had to ask for a selfie too.”

The action star also snapped a photo with café owners in Grey Lynn after stopping by to pick up a quick coffee.

“He was pretty relaxed, he had a macchiato and he scooted off. I’m pretty sure he’ll be back, because he said he wasn’t staying very far,” Cup and Bun Café owner Andy JV told Spy.

“It was all very casual and he was on his own, no minders or anything like that.”

Jason, 49, is currently in New Zealand to film his new sci-fi flick Meg, based on a novel by Steve Alten. According to Deadline, the story follows a former Naval deep sea diver named Jonas Taylor (played by Jason) who comes across a living Megalodon – a prehistoric ancestor of the shark that was believed to have reached up to 60 feet in length.

The movie also stars Ruby Rose, Rainn Wilson, Chinese actress Li Bingbing and Kiwi star Cliff Curtis. Meg is being directed by Jon Turtletaub and is due for release in March 2018.
