Jamie Oliver was every inch the proud dad as he posed for photos with his newly expanded family on Monday (UK time), showing off his infant son who was born just a day earlier.
Jools, dressed in a chic cream-coloured dress and ballet flats, cradled her newborn son close as the family gathered together for a round of photos outside the hospital.
Baby Oliver – whose first name has yet to be announced – looked content to sleep in his mother’s arms as the cameras snapped away, while his older siblings gushed and cooed over him.
Jamie and Jools, both 41, previously revealed that their two eldest daughters (Poppy Honey Rosie, 14, and Daisy Boo Pamela, 13) were able to witness the end of the birth and even cut the cord for their new little brother, marking a special moment for the family.
“Everyone in the Oliver family is very surprised and beyond happy,” Jamie wrote on Instagram yesterday, as he shared the good news with his fans.
“He arrived safely, mum/@joolsoliver was really really amazing, unbelievably composed, natural birth and my two eldest Girls got to come in at the very end as the baby was born which was amazing to witness very very emotional.”
Mum Jools wrote of her joy at her baby boy’s safe arrival as well, taking to Instagram to share a picture of her breastfeeding her newborn son.
“Little baby boy Oliver has arrived we are so very happy, blessed, grateful and totally in love all over again and so very proud of our two eldest daughters who cut the cord ❤️ “
“Jamie was my hero (no name yet)!!! XXXX,” she concluded.
While the couple have yet to choose a name for their little one, there’s no doubt the tiny tot will be getting a moniker just as unique as those of his siblings.
As well as sisters Poppy and Daisy, the newest Oliver joins seven-year-old Petal Blossom Rainbow and five-year-old Buddy Bear Maurice.
In 2010, following the birth of their then-youngest child, Jamie revealed it was wife Jools who loved giving the kids their unusual names.
Watch Jamie and Jools talking about the impending birth of their fifth child in the video below. Story continues.
“That would be my wife,” he told Sharon Osbourne of their children’s quirky name choices.
At an earlier interview on the red carpet for theEddie the Eagle premiere in March, the celebrity chef revealed he was hoping for a boy.
“You know what, I’m always grateful for what I get, it would be nice to balance it out a bit. A bit more testosterone would probably be a good thing,” he quipped to The Mirror.
At the event, the TV star couldn’t help but gush over his wife, who looked sensational in a black jumpsuit that showed off her gorgeous baby belly.
“I thought we’d have a couple of kids but that’s about it. Basically I do what I’m told but she’s an amazing family maker and I just go with it!” he said.
Congratulations to the parents on their adorable new son!
