Jamie’s character on the show is a seriously twisted serial killer, and to prepare for the role, the Irish actor revealed he stalked someone in real life!
According to an interview with the Los Angeles Times, Jamie confessed to following a woman off a train one day, just to see what it felt like to be in that mindset.
“I’m sort of not proud of myself. But I do honestly think I learned something from it, because I’ve obviously never done any of that,” he said.
“It was intriguing and interesting to enter that process of ‘What are you following her for?’ and ‘What are you trying to find out?'”
In other news, the actor’s breakout film franchise, Fifty Shades of Grey, is on the hunt for a new director after Sam Taylor-Johnson stepped down.
“While I will not be returning to direct the sequels, I wish nothing but success to whosoever takes on the exciting challenges of films two and three,” she said in a statement.
Fifty Shades Darker isn’t likely to start production until the first quarter of 2016, according to Variety, and with Sam saying no to directing the sequel, further delays could be ahead.
